The West Virginia Economic Development Grant Committee
The West Virginia Economic Development Grant Committee was established to authorize bonds for qualified economic development, infrastructure and capital improvement projects in West Virginia. The committee was created by H.B. 4005 during the 2002 regular session. The committee awarded 47 grants to public entities throughout the state for economic development projects.
The West Virginia Economic Development Authority administers this program. On January 29, 2004 The West Virginia Economic Development Authority issued $249,895,000 in Lottery Revenue Bonds to fund the various grants. As of October 7, 2005, 56% or $126,246,473 of the funds had been awarded. You may contact WVEDA for current funding status on any or all of the grants.
